Signing Up For Health Plans

Thank you for visiting the Community Health Choice Health Insurance Marketplace direct enrollment portal. The portal is now open for 2019 coverage.

NOTE: The open enrollment period for 2019 coverage is from November 1, 2018, to December 15, 2018.

The 2018 annual open enrollment period for Marketplace insurance ended December 15, 2017. However, if you moved to a new state, changed jobs, got married, got divorced, or had a baby in the past 60 days, you may still be able to enroll in a Community Marketplace plan. To see if you meet a “Qualifying Life Event” requirement and can purchase a plan for 2018 coverage, please call Community Health Choice Member Services at 713.295.6704 or Toll-free at 1.855.315.5386 or visit www.HealthCare.gov.

More Information

Qualifying Life Event

If there is a change in your life status, which is called a “Qualifying Life Event,” you may be able to enroll in healthcare coverage during a “Special Enrollment Period.” Examples of Qualifying Life Events are:

  • Moving to a new state
  • Loss of other healthcare coverage
  • Changes in your family size (if you marry, divorce, or have a baby)

Special Enrollment Period

A Special Enrollment Period is any time outside of the Open Enrollment Period during which you and your family can sign up for healthcare coverage.

In the Marketplace, you can qualify for a Special Enrollment Period of 60 days following certain life events, which include a change in family status (divorce, marriage, or birth of a child) or loss of other healthcare coverage. If you do not qualify for the Special Enrollment Period, you cannot purchase Marketplace insurance until the next Open Enrollment Period.
